4 Ways to Make Your Morning More Productive
Are you always rushed in the morning? Do you have difficulty getting things done? Here are 4 ways to make your morning more productive!
Have a set sleep schedule
A night's refreshing sleep is key to being productive in the morning. When you get good quality sleep it allows you to feel well-rested and ready to take on the day ahead. Having a structured sleep schedule is one of the best ways to help you get restful sleep. Aim to go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Set a schedule that is suitable for you and one that you will likely follow. If you are not a morning person, then you do not need to force yourself to wake up super early. You can wake up at a later time and still be productive!
Prep breakfast the night before
Preparing breakfast in advance can be very beneficial if you are tight on time in the morning. When you make your breakfast the night before it allows you to have more free time in the morning to do other things that are important to you. You can get creative depending on what you enjoy for breakfast. Here are some examples: prepare a jar of overnight oats, make a batch of grab-and-go pumpkin muffins, or create a "smoothie bag" by adding all the ingredients for a smoothie into a bag and storing it in the freezer. Alternatively, you can chop up veggies and fruits to reduce the amount of prep time in the morning.
Write down your to-do list
Creating a to-do list may be one of the most important things that you can do to make your morning more productive. When you make a to-do list it allows you to visualize your plan for the day and it holds you accountable to it. You want to make sure that your list is realistic and attainable. This will allow you to complete the tasks, cross them off, and then this will motivate you to complete the rest.
Get your body moving
Doing some form of movement in the morning can be great for boosting productivity because it can enhance mental clarity. When you move your body it increases blood flow throughout your body and to your brain which in turn provides oxygen to all your cells and supports their function. Choose an activity that you enjoy and one that fits into your morning routine. Any form of movement can be beneficial. Some examples include stretching, yoga, walking outside, and going up and down the stairs.
Bonus tips:
Schedule breaks - it is important to take breaks from your work because it gives you time to recharge. If you schedule breaks into your day you are more likely to take them.
Clean your workspace - having a clean workspace will allow you to be organized and make it easier to focus on the task at hand.
Start slow - you don't need to make all these changes at once! You can start by implementing one tip into your morning routine and then slowly integrate the others.
