This tropical green smoothie will energize your day and keep you fuelled all morning long!

Matcha: the secret ingredient.

Matcha is a key ingredient in this green smoothie! If you are not familiar with matcha, it is a finely ground powder of green tea leaves. Matcha is high in antioxidants, which support the immune system and fight against oxidative damage. Matcha also contains L-theanine; a unique amino acid that promotes mental alertness and relaxation. This green smoothie is packed with essential nutrients to keep you fuelled. It is healthy and delicious!

  • Healthy fats: hemp hearts and chia seeds make this smoothie a good source of healthy omega-3 fats.

  • Protein: adding protein powder to the smoothie will help keep you fuller longer. Hemp hearts and chia seeds also contain protein.

  • Coconut water: keeps you hydrated and provides a good source of electrolytes. Make sure to choose one with no added sugar!

  • Fruit: healthy complex carbohydrates to give you energy.

  • Spinach: packed with many vitamins and minerals to support your health.

Ingredients:

Makes 2 smoothies

  • 1 1/2 cups coconut water

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 3/4 cup frozen mango

  • 1/4 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1 handful of baby spinach

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder (highly recommended!)

  • 3 tablespoons hemp hearts

  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds

  • 1 scoop of protein powder (optional)

  • 1 or 2 ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender

  2. Blend on high until smooth

  3. Serve in two glasses and enjoy!

Tips: 1. Fresh fruit can be substituted for frozen fruit, just be sure to add more ice cubes! 2. If you do not like the taste of bananas, substitute it for more mango!

Meal prep this green smoothie!

Want to save time in the morning? This tropical green smoothie can easily be meal prepped. Put all the ingredients (except for the coconut water) into a freezer-safe container and place them in the freezer overnight. In the morning put the ingredients into a blender with the coconut water and blend it up! You may need to add a little extra coconut water and leave out the ice cubes since the ingredients will be frozen.
