Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Bites (GF, DF)

Looking for a quick and delicious grab-and-go snack? Try these energy bites!

Why I love these energy bites…

  • Packed with protein and healthy fats - thanks to the walnuts, protein powder, hemp seeds and chia seeds

  • Easy to make - all you need is a food processor

  • Easy to grab and go - just store them in a container or bag and take them with you

Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Bites

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup of walnuts

  • 1/2 cup of dates (soak them in boiling water for 5 minutes if they are not soft)

  • 1/2 cup of natural peanut butter (ingredients should be only peanuts and salt)

  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (I used a chocolate pea protein powder)

  • 2 tbsp of hemp hearts

  • 2 tbsp of chia seeds

  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Place the walnuts and dates into a food processor and pulse until combined.

  2. Then add the peanut butter and pulse until the mixture comes together.

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients (protein powder, hemp hearts, chia seeds, and salt) and pulse until there is a crumbled texture.

  4. Roll into bite-sized pieces. Optional: you can roll the outside in hemp hearts to give them a nice look!

  5. Enjoy!

This makes 14 energy bites - you can double the recipe if you want more!

Tips:

  1. If you don’t like walnuts you can swap them for another nut such as almonds or cashews

  2. The peanut butter can be swapped for almond butter (this is the only other nut butter that I have tried)
